About Headwater

energy

Headwater was formally created in 2023 by the combination of Oakhurst Energy and Aspen Creek Power, but Headwater’s origin goes back to 2012 when the founders of each company first worked together.

Since then, the leadership of each company has held senior positions at a “who’s who” of solar industry companies, where they have worked with each other on-and-off for more than a decade in a variety of roles.

Aspen first made an investment in Oakhurst in early 2022, formalizing the relationship, with an eye toward combining the businesses at the optimal time. Oakhurst Energy excels at site origination and development, while Aspen focuses on late-stage development and project acquisition, project financing and management of construction and takeout financing.

Together, the Headwater team has the capabilities – proven for more than a decade – to take renewable energy projects from concept to operation.
